Since the first of January 2019, and for five years on Metro Service A/S, company owned by ATM SpA (51%) and by Ansaldo STS (49%), will be in charge of the O&M operations at the M1 and M2 lines of Copenhagen driverless Metro.

The result reached in Denmark, beating Arriva and Keolis competition, is of great value for our company. Firstly it shows how strong is the support of our clients, in Copenhagen as well as in the whole area, to our hard work and commitment to fulfil the tasks assigned previously to the company. Secondly it reinforces our presence in the operation and maintenance business throughout the global railway industry.

Since 2008 Metro Service manages Copenhagen Metro, a structure made by two driverless lines which move across the city throughout 22 stations for around 21 kilometres with a range of 13.500 daily departures. It is worth to say that in 2016 the Metro in Copenhagen transported around 61 million passengers, recording a service availability of 99.2%. In March 2016 Metro Service has been awarded also of the O&M operations of the two lines, now under construction, which will form the new Cityringen project, an initiative which will boost the local mobility in the Danish capital. Ansaldo STS and ATM confirm, once again, their leading role in long term management of driverless metro as well as railways metro systems, reinforcing their position among the O&M operators across the world.
