More than 300 exhibitors coming from 30 countries around the world. Three days of intense meetings, B2Bs and workshops. This and much more has been the 60th edition of the UITP Global Public Transport Summit, the world's main fair dedicated to the urban and regional transport, held in Canada, at the Palais de Congres de Montreal from 15th to 17th May.

Our stand, located in Hall 2 jointly with Hitachi Rail Italy, has been visited by a significant number of guests, professionals and experts. In particular the VR room, otherwise known as the Virtual Reality room, attracted viewers attention, showing the extraordinary possibilities of the driverless system as well as of the other branded new technologies designed and developed in our laboratories across the world.

It has been a satisfying fair – affirms Mr Andy Barr, CEO and GM of Ansaldo STS –, which gave us the chance to keep in contact once again with many colleagues, professionals and visitors from Canada and North America. During the three days exhibition, we had the opportunity to show, to our customers as well as to our competitors, which are our main projects and we have been very proud of having such chance”.

During the sessions Mr Ashley Langford, Principal Sales Manager of Canada, joined the Focus session 11, chaired by Myriam Hernandez (manager, UITP Brussels), giving a speech about the “Driverless unattended metro: the answer to the current and future needs of urban mobility”. The talk hooked the attention of many participant, igniting a debate related to the real possibility of development as well as of application of such technologies in our urban areas.
