Ansaldo STS wins contract for Italian Railway Network Signalling upgrade

• Contract worth over EUR 30 million
• The project significantly raises safety standards throughout the Italian railway network

Ansaldo STS (STS.MI), through its Ansaldo Segnalamento Ferroviario subsidiary, was awarded a contract by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI) to supply and install, within the context of the SCMT network project, the wayside signalling system for railway lines pertaining to an area comprising Italian cities like Turin, Milan, Verona, Bologna, Florence, Rome and Naples.
Ansaldo Segnalamento Ferroviario, acting as leading partner of a temporary business grouping including Alstom, Bombardier and GE, has been awarded a contract for a value exceeding EUR 30 M for the completion of phase 1 and the realization of phase 2a of the SCMT project. The overall value of the contract is EURO 57 M.
