A consortium between Ansaldo STS (STS, MI), through its subsidiary “Union Switch & Signal International Co.” (USSI), and the Portuguese Energy and Telecommunication Group EFACEC, has been awarded a contract by Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos (CPTM) to provide a new signaling system, operational control center (OCC), power supply, and telecommunications for CPTM’s - Sao Paulo Commuter Rail - Line 7 and Line 12. The contract has an approximate value of $120 million USD and Ansaldo STS’ share of the contract is worth $ 36 million USD. Brazilian engineering company Trends will also participate in the project.
