Ansaldo STS has been awarded a Euro 13 Million contract to implement the ERTMS Level 2 signalling technology on the new High Speed Line connecting Tours and Bordeaux (S.E.A.line) in France.

The new contract, awarded to Ansaldo STS (STS.MI) by Cofely Ineo (GDF Suez group), teamed with Systra, has a value of 13 million Euro, with option for further Euro 4,9 million, and follows the contract awarded to Ansaldo STS in 2011 to provide the entire signalling system on the new S.E.A High Speed Line.

It involves design, supply, test and commissioning of the complete ERTMS level 2 technology to be overlaid on the traditional signalling system.

When completed this project will allow safe and reliable commercial operations up to 320 km/h along the 343 km-long new line.

This contract, along with the East Europe and Loire Valley HSL projects, confirms Ansaldo STS’ position as the leader of ERTMS level 2 systems in France to date.

This further strengthens Ansaldo STS’ worldwide leadership in the railway and mass transit sectors, and confirms its capability to carry out green-field projects or upgrade existing networks, both for core signalling or complete turnkey programs.
