Cambrian Line

The Cambrian Lines ERTMS Project encompasses the renewal of the signalling infrastructure presently controlled by Machynlleth signal box, replacing RETB (Radio Electronic Token Block) and TCB (Track Circuit Block) signalling with ERTMS/ETCS Level 2 technology operated without lineside signals according to a new set of rules and procedures. When complete, the Lines will operate with the new system from Sutton Bridge Junction (exclusive) to Aberystwyth and Pwllheli.

SCMT is an innovative train control system compatible with the new European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS/ETCS) designed to ensure interoperability on the European rail network.
